Quick Update...

So I have not been updating my blog this week. I will sum up the week in this blog.

UGH!

Monday I stayed home from school. My allergies got ANGRY. I have had them since I was a kid, but really I have always been able to manage with otc allergy meds. Not this time. I went to H.D.'s allergist on Monday and I am allergic to my animals and grasses and trees. Go figure. I am on meds, doing better, and if they don't work I will go to shots.

I have apparently not been snoring this week, so that is a plus!!!

On Monday there was a shooting threat written in a restroom at school. The threat was that people would be shot today, Friday. It has been a tumultuous week for kids, and teachers. Today we has security check points on our way into the building. I was thankful for the serious increase in security. We are all fine and I believe we will be ALL day.

Lonely, Lovely, Saturday

What is a girl to do, a beautiful day, no boys in the house, lots of grading to do, a paper to write, a dishwasher to unload, a floor to mop, flower beds to clean out for spring.

A girl is to lay on her couch with the windows open smelling the beautiful breeze, look at her reef tank, and listen to Prince.

Here I am, Leo cavorting with the felines, aka King of my jungle, Sam. Funniest cat ever. Comes to you looking for smootches. He meows, head butts to get his way, and to get you to kiss his forehead.

My hard work this Spring Break

Before and During:

My mom and I have been finishing the "project" of my living/dining room. I got one more coat of stain on the baseboards, got those varnished, and then we finally painted. It has been 8 long years the same nasty, dirty walls with runs from the stripping compound that we used on the woodwork. I am so glad that my house is no longer hodge podge. Now I just have to finish the floors and it will look AMAZING.

The color is called grapevine, and for some reason the flash makes it look a different color than it looks in person.

Sorry my table is full of junk, we were working on putting things back to "normal" but I was too anxious and snapped the pictures.

YAY for Aunt Emily!!!

So after the robbery finding a Wii was next to impossible. Almost as impossible as the first time, but as with the first time, Emily came through. Aunt E...godmother, my BFF (lol), and all around great lady...pulled some strings and H.D. has a new Wii.

She has magical powers.

It is cold and sleety, rainy, snowy here...we are on Spring Break starting tonight. I am thankful that the yucky weather is almost over and this week while we are off it is going to be in the 70s. YAY!!!

Well...time to bake this couch potato, since Oma and Papa are coming on Monday to crack the whip. We are staining wood work, and painting my living room. I will post pics next week. As Sam Cooke sings "A Change is Gonna Come".

Lost Tooth...Literally

Yesterday H.D. lost his second top front tooth. Does that make sense? Well anyway, his teacher put it in this cute little plastic tooth necklace and he wore it around his neck. Aparently, in after care during snack he was in the gym and the necklace popped open and tooth got lost forever in the gym. He was soooo bummed out and worried that the tooth fairy would not come. He/She did. No worries.

Funniest Moment Today

So H.D. is singing a song from "The Chipmunks" c/o The Pussycat Dolls "Don't Cha". He is in the tub singing, in the living room singing, it gets catchy.

Scott is sitting at the computer and is singing..."don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me...*laugh* don't cha wish your girl friend was a freak like me *laugh harder* don't cha. H.D. says at the perfect moment. "Don't talk about Mom like that," *ROFLMAO*

*Everyone in the room laughing*

Beautiful Spring Day

We flew H.D.'s new kite today. We have stunt kites but they are so hard for the little guy to control. I took a bunch of pictures, but our digital camera is taking such horrible pictures, and to look at them you have to whack the camera a few times. I think that Scott and I will buy a digital SLR for each other for our anniversary, I am looking forward to that!

This picture looks kind of crabby, but I was laying on the ground taking a picture of myself. Really was not crabby, just crappy. :)




Another Rainy Day...Another Poem

So today is rainy again, and I decided to pull out the poems and have another look. Here is another that either people love or hate. I love it for a weird reason.

Down the street an ugly dog barks.

Its fur is matted and stinking.

Its eyes runny and its nose dry.

His bark mixes with the sounds of the city; far off traffic, a mother shouting, children laughing.

Closer still the sound of birds singing, chimes banging their constant melodic ring against the whisper of the wind.

The dog, the traffic, mother, children, all blend into the distance - unheard now.

Nothing is heard, save the birds happy songs, the chimes, and above all like a resounding proud solo...

The whisper of the wind.

Garbage Warrior

I sat on my couch and watched Garbage Warrior. I was so excited, motivated, and intrigued by what I saw and learned. I want to start looking for parcels of land in the country, and to start researching the law and building codes in Nebraska.
