HD was excited and perturbed by the inauguration of our 44th president. After watching at school, and then at home with mom he was pretty well done with all that inauguration business. I was trying to watch news coverage during dinner, he wanted to watch cartoons, and said "Why is it always about Barack Obama?" I think I may have used this line on him one too many times..."It is not always about you!"
It was a good lesson, and he did realize the importance of the event, it was just more than his little 8 year old self could handle for one day. LOL
This was a priceless kid moment that needed to be recorded much like the day that I was telling my friend Adam about a phrase that my dad taught my sister about Ronald Regan when she was quite small (too small to know what she was saying). My dad would ask her what she thought about Ronald Regan and her squeaky little voice would chime in with "Ronald Regan is an @$$40le." At dinner that night Adam turned and asked HD the same question "HD what do you think of Ronald Regan?" and HD's response was "I Dunno, I've never been there."
The things kids say! LOVE IT...Adam insisted that I record both incidents for posterity and future chuckles.
